    Description

    Up for consideration...
    Rare and unusual
    27"
    Babs
Harry H. Coleman Walking Dummy Doll
    with
    a composition shoulder head
    and
a walking wooden body with composition lower arms and a wire-covered torso
The head is nailed onto the body by nails (2 on the front of shoulder plate and 1 on the back)
This doll was patented in 1917 by Harry H. Coleman
The torso which is in excellent condition is made of wood, wire screening and coiled springs
There are springs on the top of each leg that allow the doll to "walk" and there are hinges and joints on legs enabling her to bend
Joints on both arms are held in place by hinges which allow her to bend her arms. The hands and part of the forearm are composition
The Doll is missing one hand
I believe there should be another joint at this point, but this doll's hands and wrists have been fused together.
On the block of wood between her legs is a faint manufacturers stamp which is difficult to make out but definitely exists
The date on this doll is Sept. 9, 1919
Her composition head is severally cracked and needs restoring
She has painted blue eyes, painted eyelashes, eyebrows and lips and dimples on her cheeks and chain
There are white dots on inner corners of eyes
